Bedruthan Steps
Porth Meor Cove and valley

Description

Park your car at Carnewas National Trust car park

(S/E) Enter the path next to National Trust buildings leading to a fork with danger cliff signpost. Bear left two times until you reach the cliff edge. From this first viewpoint overlooking Bedruthan Beach, you can admire Bedruthan Steps, these gorgeous fallen rocks positioned one behind the others.

(1) Take the coastal path along these rocks, go down steps leading to another viewpoint in front of Pendarves Island. Ascend the coastal path, then go past a car park on your right and continue for one mile until you walk along the hedge.

(2) Past the hedge, you reach a junction signpost. Go straight following "Park Head, Porth Mear". You finally can catch sight of Trevose Head far away when you reach Park Head.

(3) Walk the path along High Cove and pay attention to the beautiful arch rock on your left, then go past a low wall on your right and notice burial mounds around you. Continue down the path which overlooks Trescore Islands.

(4) Past the gate, when the path levels next to Porth Mear Cove, ignore the footbridge over the stream on your left but go straight following "Pentire Farm 1mile". Go slightly up this valley, go past a wreck and nice wooden sculptures. Then, cross a footbridge and go across fields leading to Porth Mear Cottage.

(5) When you reach the road close to Porth Mear Cottage, bear right, go past Beach Head Bunkhouse and head towards the gate next to Skippers Cabin. Go through the gate, continue straight for 500metres across fields and along hedges on your left (ignore a path leading to Park Head car park on your left) until you are back to the coastal path. Notice that you join again the first junction signpost but this time bear left and retrace your steps using the same way to Carnewas National Trust car park.(S/E)
