(S/E) From the car park, turn left into Brannon Way and continue right into Mary Rose Avenue and then Fernside Way.
(1) Turn left at the main road, and then turn left into Packsfield Lane North, bridleway NS. Follow this track through the open countryside to reach the railway. Cross the level crossing carefully and close the gates. Then take bridleway N7 towards Littletown Lane.
(2) At a seven bar gate go left. At a house, Shiloh, follow the bridleway right. Pass The Lodge and Little Mousehill Farm Cottage. At a stile, turn left onto footpath N2. Follow the grassy path to the left of a line of trees. Cross three more stiles and enter a copse.
(3) At Woodhouse, cross a stile and turn left on a track to reach the railway. Carefully cross the level crossing and ensure gates are closed. Follow the track left through woodland. The track rises to a junction.
(4) Go right along the track. On the left is an 18th Century Ice House for residents of Fernhill House which used to be nearby. Opposite this feature, there is a stile leading into woodland.
(5) Here the walk can be extended by entering Hurst Copse and following the loop back to the track. A further option is to explore Briddlesford Field and copses, a wildflower meadow open to the public by permissive access. There is an interpretation board along the track. Continue through a metal gate and follow the track to the left of the Lakeside Hotel. Follow the Tarmac track to a road which leads to the High Street. Turn left past shops and then turn left into Brannon Way to return to the car park. (S/E)
