Park at the Bowlees car park or if busy on the road leading up to the car park. If doing the latter remember not to double park. Please note dogs are not allowed at the art installation, you will be turned back if you arrive at (6) with dogs.
(S) Walk from the car park to the visitor centre, crossing the bridge. Just before the centre, there is a gate on the right leading into the woods. The path to the installation is marked with yellow pennants at every gate and stile.
(1) Go through the gate and follow the track up through the wood to a stile.
(2) Climb the stile into a field and cross this with the woodland on your right to another stile.
(3) Cross the second stile. Ahead on your right, there is the valley of Hell Cleugh. Cross the field and descend into the left branch of the Cleugh with the Wester Beck at the bottom. Ahead and on the hillside, you will see the Hush art installation.
(4) Cross the Wester Beck on stepping stones and go through a gate. Walk up over the filed to Broadley's Gate Farm.
(5) Go through the gate, (take care it has seen better days) and walk past the farm buildings to take the farm track. Note there may be cows in this pasture with calves and a bull. Uncontrolled dogs will not be appreciated by the farmer.
(6) Where the farm track meets the road, cross and go through the gate. There will be a volunteer warden who will turn you back if you have a dog with you. Walk with the beck on your left to the base of the hush and then ascend.
(7) Walk up under the installation and return from the down the left-hand side to see it from a different viewpoint. Once you have viewed the art installation, return the way you came.
