Description

(S/E) Park at the Chateau De Bouteville Car Park in the village of Bouteville.

(1) Go up the track to walk in front of the Chateau to arrive at the entrance bridge and carry on around the Chateau to arrive back at the Chateau car park and go through the car park bearing left at a small fork in the track. After a short while go downhill along the narrow shaded path to the tarmac road. Turn right past the bin store and houses on your left to come to a sharp 90° left hand bend in the road where you go straight ahead onto the track.

(2) Follow this track until you get to a fork and bear left across a small stream and go straight on for quite a distance towards the wood you started from in the distance until you get to a crossroads with a tarmac road and go straight ahead towards the left hand side of the wood (Noting the electric heating cables on the lower support cable of the grape vines in the vineyard on your left). Carry on through the wood passing a cottage in the woods just off the track on your right, and the Logis St Pierre on your left, until you reach the tarmac road and bear right uphill.

(3) After a short while, there is a road to Douvesse on your left. Ignore it and turn right onto a track into the woods on your right at a lone bottle bank. Go downhill through the woods and at a fork in the track bear right to cross the small stream and shortly after turning right along the track (ignoring the slightly uphill track straight ahead) with the wood on your left and a field on your right until the track bears left uphill (ignoring the way marked track straight ahead).

(4) Carry on uphill until you reach a vineyard surrounded by forest and turn left with the wood on your left and the vineyard on your right.

(5) Carry on to the corner of the vineyard and turn right, ignoring a track into the wood at this corner. After about 50 metres, turn left into the wide track into the forest and follow this relatively straight on until you pass the cowboy camp on your right to then reach a clearly defined crossroads.

(6) Turn right slightly downhill and keep going straight on until you reach Le Raby

(7)From Le Raby, go downhill to the crossroads and then straight across onto the track through the field heading towards the Chateau in the distance. Stay on the track until you come to the tarmac road just short of the Chateau

(8) Turn left. After a short distance around 100m where the road bends slightly left, turn right to walk in the wide gap between vines and straight across the tarmac road to walk on a grassed track between the vines to arrive at a lone tree. Turn right at the lone tree towards the Chateau to reach the tarmac road and turn left on the road. Head into the lovely village of Bouteville and just after 'Baume de Bouteville' on the right (and before the crossroads) turn right back towards the Chateau car park.
