Park your car in front of Maker church entrance (Church of St Mary and St Julian).
(S/E) Follow immediately North the indicated path heading the road. Past the gate, cross over the road and go down a few steps following straight down this narrow path at a first junction then bear right at the track (yellow arrow signpost).
(1) This track joins a wooden kissing gate on your left. Follow this way, past this kissing gate, you enter an open field overlooking Torpoint on the other side of the bay. Cross this field and turn left at the gravel track. Cross over the road, follow Cremyll ferry and Empacombe path. Notice a windmill (probably) in ruins on your way.
(2) This pleasant path leads to Empacombe Harbour. As indicated, avoid private property and follow harbour wall to gate on the opposite side of the harbour. Go straight at Empacombe house, then you will go past a nice building (a clock sits on top of the main wall) then past Cremyll car park. Go through a residential area and you arrive Cremyll. Close to Edgcumbe Arms, you can read interesting explanations about the relationship between this place and the ferry during History (Dockyard, owners, travellers, boats...).
(3) From the main road, head to Mount Edgcumbe (big metal gate) and turn left immediately after the entrance towards the Orangery. Look at this beautiful garden! Continue the path along the sea where James Cook sailed in August 1768 at the start of his first great voyage of discovery! Enjoy the view over Plymouth and the marina.
The coastal path leads to a tall gate and after a few meters you can see Edgcumbe folly upright.
(4) The path becomes a track and goes past a stunning black and white house from 1882.
(5) You are back on a path, continue and turn left climbing stairs leading to a nice viewpoint over Plymouth Sound.
(6) Ignore stairs on your left, use the path going around the tennis courts further down until you reach a lovely chapel. Keep the left path at the fork, then past the gate, you catch sight of Kingsand. Cross over the road and follow the coastal path until you reach the village. Bear right after the gate heading to Kingsway house. Climb up the steep dead-end unsuitable for vehicles on your right (signpost). Bear right at the end of the road and turn right again at the next junction.
(7) Go up the path, you can see Grenville battery in ruins on your left and Cawsand bay on your right before you reach a road. Turn right, then quickly left. Walk along the field until you reach another road. Turn right, then left at the next junction (follow Fort Picklecombe). Leave the road heading the public footpath on your left. Cross a private access track, walk along the private property wall. Now, you can catch sight of the church because you are almost back to the car park.(S/E)
