Description

(S) From Redcar East Railway Station walk on Hawthorn Road road until you reach the Coast road. You can also start your walk from Zetland Park.

(1) Cross the road reaching the promenade then turn right at the beach (alternatively continue walking along the main road).

(2) Continue past the paddling pool until the promenade bends around to the right, you should see a path across the dunes here.
Continue walking along the dunes (or the roadside), you will pass a car park then turn inland towards the road at Long Beck passing another car park (with toilets) until you reach a tarmac footpath. If you stayed on the road, you will need to turn left at the bend by the school.

(3) Follow the footpath around the buildings until you reach Cliff Terrace Road.

(4) At the end of Cliff Terrace road turn left and enter Marske Valley Gardens. Either turn left up the steps and follow the cliff-top path until you reach St Germain's church yard or walk up through Marske Valley Gardens to the center of Marske, this is where the accessible route ends.

(5) From the church yard, continue straight on the clifftop path until you reach Saltburn sands.

(6) Walk down the steep path until you reach the road.

(7) Turn left to the beach and then right onto the promenade, pass the beach huts and continue to Saltburn pier where the walk ends. (E)
