(S) From Noses Point car park follow the footpath south along the paved footpath. You will pass a viewing point on your left next to the National Trust Car Park (you can park here too).
(1) When you reach the footbridge, cross it and continue to follow the path southwards which is now a much narrower dirt track. Just beyond the bridge the path splits, one hugs the coastline (the England Coast Path) and the other is much straighter. They run in parallel so take either.
The two paths meet at the top of a flight of steps should you wish to access the beach. Cross the path that leads to the steps and continue to follow either the straight footpath or the one that hugs the cliff tops until you reach Chourdon Point. When you reach Choudron Point turn right to reach the railway.
(2) Cross the footbridge over the railway line and turn left immediately onto the wider path walking through Hawthorn Dene Meadow keep left as you go.
(3) Follow the path into the trees, down through the woodland, and across a bridge. Walk up the path/steps, at the top turn right at the first path junction and then left at the second path.
(4) After crossing "Hawthron Burn" stream ignore the path on your left, keep right then left and walk underneath Hawthorn Dene viaduct following the path around to the right.
Continue following the path which hugs the railway line. You will pass Beacon Hill on your right. You can cross the railway lines to walk up the hill if you wish otherwise carry on until the next junction.
(5) The England Coast Path splits here again, follow the cliff top or take the straighter, more direct route, these converge again at Shot Rock.
Continue to follow the cliff top path until you reach Busiers Holes where the path turns to the right towards the railway line.
(6) Walk through the tunnel under the railway line and turn right into the Easington Colliery car park. (E)
