Park your car at Torrington Commons car park (Old Bowling Green) behind the play area
(S/E) From the entrance, bear left to the path next to the wall following "Golf Course" direction. At the next junction, go straight down ignoring right and left paths. When you reach the fork, continue down the zig-zag path on your left until you reach a picnic table close to Common Lake. Follow the way on the left along the river before you go slightly up on the right at the next fork.
(1) Then, you reach a junction signpost. Ignore "Puffing Billy" on the left but ascend the large path in front of you for 500 metres until you reach the golf course.
(2) Be careful, after a few metres, you bear left across the golf course ("walkers with right-of-way" signpost)
(3) Close to the hole n°4, continue straight down until you reach a gate. Leave the path which bends left and go through this gate. Then, past the power line, turn left to the descending path which reaches a bridge.
(4) Cross this bridge and follow the path keeping the right side. Pass under the same bridge following Rolle Canal Path. Cross a few small footbridges before you reach The Rolle Canal sign with interesting explanations! Continue the flat path ignoring stairs on the right until you join a direction signpost. Turn right towards "Tarka Trail".
(5) Bear left onto this concrete path for half a mile until you reach the old railway station. Continue straight ahead going through the tunnel, then, after 100 metres, go up the left path which leads to the main road. Cross over the road and follow the path on the right which slightly goes up to Torrington Commons car park.(S/E)
