Walk in the Peak District. Will take you from Mid to North of The Peak District.
(D/A) Begin in Castleton and walk-up Hollowford Road. Continue straight on up the path beside a small stream.
(1) Join on to the main path going up Mam Tor.
(2) Follow the path along the top of Mam tor until you reach the summit. Continue along the path after the summit which should take you down towards a road.
(3) Cross the road and follow the path. Follow this path until you reach a right turn taking you North.
(4) Follow this route North bound until you reach an intersection of footpaths and take the left path approximately North West. This path will then lead on to the Pennine Way.
(5) Follow the Pennine Way through Jacobs Ladder Path, Kinder Low, Kinder Downfall all the way until you meet the Torside Reservoir and cross over this.
(6) Continue on the Pennine Way until Oaken Clough, this is just after Black Tor. Here follow the path left, so North West and it should take you through Laddow Moss.
(7) Keep on this path until you find the Oldham way which you will follow further West.
(8) Then leave the Oldham Way around Intake Lane and walk into Greenfield meeting the main road.
Go up the A 669 towards Greenfield Station. This the end of the journey.(D/A)

A picturesque walk with some steep climbs. Starts in Castleton and takes the limestone way through Cave Dale. The walk then works is way overland to Mam Tor and along the Great Ridge to Back Tor. From here the walk goes towards Blue John Cavern before descending via Winnat's Pass and then over the field back to Castleton. Some steep climbs most notably Mam Tor and Back Tor - also some steep and rocky terrain/descents.
Hollins Cross, Mam Tor and Cavedale are highlights of this Peak District walk from Castleton. The walk includes both Dark and White Peak scenery and generally follows well marked footpaths.
