Sennen Cove
Nanjizal Beach

Description

Park your car at Sennen Church car park (behind The First and Last Inn).

(S/E) Turn left along the A30 road, go past SeaView Holiday Park and follow the left road at the fork which leads to Trevescan (pay attention during 200 metres walking along this narrow traffic road with passing place).

(1) At crossroads, go straight ahead ("public footpath Bosistow 1 mile" signpost) next to Curlew house using the public footpath across the private property. climb stone steps in open fields following yellow arrows until you reach a farm. Past the farm in Trevilley, continue along the hedge, then go straight across fields leading to a gate in the hedge. The path between hedges leads to a fork (signpost with yellow arrows).

(2) Bear right to the path which finally goes down overlooking Nanjizal Beach. Before you continue on the right walking the coastal path, enjoy this stunning cove and glace at the rock arch you can reach during low tide.

(3) Retrace your steps towards the junction with the coastal path and walk along the cliffs reaching Carn Boel. Keep left path if you want to admire boulders and stunning views from Pordenack Point including Enys Dodnan Arch on your right (targeting rocks below Land's Head building). This detour goes back to the coastal path, then continue ignoring Greeb Cottage and Craft Workshops. Walk along fences heading to Carn Green, this point in front of Longships lighthouse. Past the stream, continue up towards Land's End buildings far away.

(4) Ignore the holiday complex on the right and follow the asphalt road leading to "The first and Last" gift house. From the house next to the junction signpost, follow left "Coast Path Sennen 1m". Walk along the coastal path (Maen National Trust) until you reach Mayon Cliff where you can see the RMS Mulheim wreck run aground down below.

(5) The path finally reaches the old Coastguard Lookout built in 1912 which overlooks Sennen Cove. Notice that you can see Cape Cornwall far away on clear days. From the lookout, leave the coastal path which goes down but go straight to the flat path leading to the residential area until you reach a metal gate and a curving road.

(6) Ascend Maria's Lane (right side) until crossroads with junction signpost. Go straight ahead following "public footpath to Treave Common", then go past white houses following the driveway until you join the private property (ignore permissive footpath next to the driveway on your way). Take the public footpath on the right along the property, go straight across a field past the stile in the middle of rocks (yellow arrows).

(7) Enter another field until you join a path with blue arrow signpost close to Treave Moor House. Follow the driveway leading to the main road (A30). Turn left walking along the pavement next to Land's End camping field. The main road you follow bends left until you reach Sennen and the car park.(S/E)
