The Thurgoland Boundary Walk is just under nine miles long and takes in part of the upper Don valley as well as some of the tributaries of the river Dove. This Peak District walk explores two of the gritstone edges in the eastern sector of the National Park. The walk generally follows well defined paths and tracks and offers some fine views from elevated positions along the way. After heavy rain do expect some boggy ground under foot along some sections of the route.

This Peak District walk comes with a warning as it's not suitable for those who don't like scrambling along the side of vertical banks or who are not happy crossing streams. It is undoubtedly easier to do the walk by going up Blackden Brook - rather than coming down it - and it is easier in good, dry weather. The reward is some great views!
