A very easy to follow 6 mile circular walk beginning at Rufford Marina and initially taking towpath North beside Leeds Liverpool Canal before taking footpath South along the levee beside River Douglas back to start.

Leeds Liverpool Canal at Rufford

Description

(D/A) Join towpath heading North on the East bank of the canal.

(1) Continue North along the towpath.

(2) Carefully cross Sollom Lane and follow the path along East bank as it follows the meandering course of River
Asland.

(3) Continue to follow River Asland as it turns northeast (right)

(4) Take the short path northeast across the field to the levee of River Douglas and turn South (right) along the levee.

(5) Carefully cross Eyes Lane and continue South beside River Douglas.

(6) Continue South beside River Douglas.

(7) Pass with care under the railway bridge as the path can be slippery. Upon reaching Meadow Lane turn West (right) along it.(D/A)
