The walk was on road and on small footpaths, There were no muddy difficult parts to walk but there is an interesting Golf course. We stopped here for a Tea & coffee break. The golf course had foot golf with a football which was interesting to watch, also a dinosaur golf course for children. It was like crazy golf among the various dinosaur's which moved and made noises at various times. The route is out on open fields and other highlights are the various thatched cottages along the route. We also changed our route towards the end to complete a circular route following the river Mel. As we entered Meldreth we took the public footpath on the right at the Holy Trinity C of E Church this lakes you across the sports field of Melbourn Village College to the side of the River Mel (on your left). This allows you to pass under the A10 and later to cross the railway line (there is a good view in both directions and the trains also signal there approach), if you are adventure's you can walk under the railway line next to the river. At the end of the path you turn right onto N End Road continuing on the Meldreth road back to Shepreth.
