Swavesey walks

A largely rural walk through three villages near Cambridge with interesting churches. One section passes an old airfield being developed as the new town of Northstowe.

It has an excellent range of ales, offers good food, provides good company and has an intriguing history with regard to its names. This walk uses the road from Houghton so it is an easy stroll with other pubs along the route.

A circular walk from Histon to Girton and beyond. Through woods, across fields and on a variety of tracks and roads.

A circular walk from Houghton to St Ives using the Ouse Valley Way.
A simple and easy riverside walk following the course of the River Ouse. The walk uses the Ouse Valley Way to St Ives, returning via the picturesque Hemingford villages, full of thatched cottages and world charm. There's plenty of pubs, there's river locks, there's the iconic mill at Houghton which makes this a well worthwhile wander. Make a whole day of it and take in the sights and sounds and, of course, the quintessential English pubs.

You will enjoy the scenery south of Cambridge along the Cam river, and the picturesque village of Grantchester.

This is a lovely gentle walk taking in the Cambridgeshire villages of Harlton and Haslingfield in a figure-of-eight route which takes you through open farmland, a woodland path and Harlton clunch pit. As this is a figure-of-eight walk passing through Harlton clunch pit twice it can obviously be split into two separate shorter routes of similar mileage. It can also be completed in either clockwise or anti-clockwise direction.

A point to point walk from Foxton Station to Shepreth Station with a nice woody interlude through the Wimbish Estate.

From Foxton Railway Station you can take in the sights of Foxton - the Dovecot, Foxton Wood, St Laurence Church and the White Horse Pub.

See all the sights of Shepreth : Docwras Manor Garden, the Crossing House Garden, Shepreth L-Moor (SSSI), Shepreth Church, The Plough, The Teacake and Shepreth Wildlife Park.

A point to point walk from Shepreth Station to Meldreth Station passing through the village of Melbourn.

A walk along the Forty-foot drain looping up around the airfield, the route is via public footpaths apart from the last 400m which is along the road.
