View over Talland
Talland Bay
Portnadler bay and Looe Island

Description

Park your car at Hendersick National Trust car park (road to Tallard from Portlooe).

(S/E) Go through the gate, then a second one close to a farm building on your right.

(1) At the third gate, Ignore the yellow arrow signpost and the path going down left to Portnadler. Bear right along the fence, never go down the slope but follow the ridge! Go past a large gate (yellow arrow), then turn left and walk again along the fence slightly down. Enjoy views to West Looe and Looe Island on your left. Past the next gate, you join the coastal path, turn right and follow this way until you reach a small car park above the beach. At the road in front of Smugglers cottage, turn left until you reach crossroads.

(2) Turn again left onto this dead-end road (toilets on your left) leading to Talland Bay Beach Cafe. Go past the cafe, leave the road and turn left following the coastal path along the beach. Follow the steep path for a few metres before you bear left when you see three steps. This nice path overlooks Talland Bay.

(3) Ignore a descending path with stairs on your left and continue slightly up the rocky path.

(4) Go past Harry Godsall's bench and don't forget to take the next right 300 meters after the cross. Go up the pretty steep path close to a house, go through a stile until you reach a straight track on your left. Head to the road. At the junction, bear right and follow this steep road unsuitable for motor vehicles. From this road, the view over the bay is really stunning. This road becomes a narrow path along houses leading to Talland. Go back to Talland Bay Beach Cafe using the same way, go up the road heading crossroads close to public toilets.

(5) Turn right until you reach again Smugglers Cottage but this time, continue straight on this road becoming steeper and steeper(be careful of the traffic in summer!). Go past Talland Barton Farm heading to the top of the hill, then joining Hendersick car park.(S/E)
