A hike that visits one of the 7 Wonders of Dauphiné.
Calculated time is computed with the distance, the height difference, and an average speed of 2.2 mph. For an intermediate walker, this time includes small breaks.
Park in the car park of Saint Barthélémy du Gua, at a crossroads of Route du Col de l’Arzelier.
Go onto the road opposite 200 m on Route du Col de Arzelier. Leave it to take the wide track on the left (1) leading to the village of Pierre. At the village entrance, turn left and head slightly downhill to reach the D8.
Stay on this road and turning right, take the path down to the Flaming Fountain (2).
Back at the turn, follow the road to the village of Miribel Lanchâtre.
Leave the D8 by the left (sign: A physically demanding route), then left again 100 m further on (3). This trail with Vercors-style green and yellow markings, remains level before starting on a good downhill stretch to the hamlet of Garin Essart (4).
Do not cross the bridge over the Gresse. Stay on the left bank then undertake the ascent to Saint Barthélémy on a green and yellow marked trail that starts on the left at the bridge.
Ignore a path on the left and at the next intersection, turn left, then immediately right.
Reach the D8 at the entrance to the village and turn right to reach the starting point at the car park (5).

No water, no shelter on this route.
The Flaming Fountain is a feature of this area. The gas coming out in places above the water course are flammable, which gives this place its magic.
A space has been set up along the water, with the welcoming name Verdant de Cassoulet, and in the middle of the space, the flame burns continuously.

La Pierre Percée
Tour Sans Venin,
Lesdiguières bridge in Claix.
A vertiginous and rarely-taken loop, where you come across ibexes and chamois at every hairpin bend. Make sure you always have a helmet (ibexes love to send stones flying), as well as crampons and an ice axe until late in the season, as névés remain in place fairly long within the steep Serre-Brion couloir. It is best to start your hike early in the morning so that snow is still hard when reaching this couloir.
This is a hike that starts with a ferry crossing.
The objective is to take the two elegant bridges.
The first bridge crosses the Drac.
The second bridge crosses the Ebron.
This easily accessed summit is located on a ridge between the "Vallée de la Gresse" and the Vercors plateau. It offers a breathtaking view on Belledonne, Les Rousses and a bit further Les Ecrins.
A walk of discovery from Vercors in a loop between the cliffs, forest and meadow. Small height change.
A long hike across the Vercors Highlands ("Hauts Plateaux du Vercors"), to reach the Grand Veymont. Breath-taking view of the entire Vercors massif and Mont Aiguille.
