A beautiful loop around the Calavon Gorges from the village of Oppedette.

Oppedette walk

Description
Park in the large parking area overlooking the gorge (see signposts) (S).
First head to the viewpoint overlooking the gorge for a quick overview of the route.
Head back to the car park and start down the left bank of the Calavon stream (1). The path through the bushes is marked in RW (Red and White indicating the GR6-97 route) cutting across the road twice before reaching the bridge over the Calavon.
Cross the bridge (2) and turn immediately to the right to gently climb up the right bank of the stream. The marking changes to yellow; this is a PR route that winds through the boxwood and oaks.
After an hour you will reach a delicate passage secured by handrails (3) with views over the stream a hundred metres below.
Then continue until (4) a ford that lets you cross the stream before starting the last climb up Oppedette.
Go through the village and find the GR route that leads back to the car park.

Useful Information
No water, no shelter on this route.
The trail is very well marked, the markings and signs at every intersection are excellent.
Nevertheless, the hike takes a path where the floor is littered with extremely smooth stones that prevent passage during rain.
