(S/E) Go north to a group of houses and take the path that goes to the right.
Cross two fences to access and cross a field.
Cross two other fences to get out, cross the road. Enter another field through the fence in front of you. Turn left towards another fence to immediately exit the field
Cross the fence, cross the road again and cross another fence opposite. Follow a hedge on your left to a new fence
Cross the fence and follow the path on the right
Cross a further fence near a stream that you follow, keeping it on your right.

(1) Cross, over a footbridge (Sparrow's Bridge), a stream on your left. Take the crossing point to cross the railway. Warning, rail traffic is quite frequent. Follow the path that goes to the right. Cross a new watercourse on the left using a pedestrian bridge and continue on the right.

(2) Take the passage through a hedge to cross another stream. Follow the path, cross a fence, then another and continue towards the farm in front of you.
Immediately after passing some houses on your left, turn left on a small tarmac road.
Cross a larger road then take the shady path for about 200m which veers off a little on its left.

(3) At a post, a little hidden in the vegetation, turn left to leave the shaded path. At the end of the path, take the fork on the right along a grove.

(4) Go over a passage on your left over a fence near a locked gate.
Leave immediately to the right along the fence on your right. The path climbs steeply. Ignore the path that passes in front of a bench on your left and continue to follow the fence on your right to find a passage at the top of the hill to cross another fence.

(5) Cross the fence through this passageway and enter the undergrowth.
Arriving at a wider path, turn right, cross a fence which is often open and continue in the undergrowth.

(6) When you reach the end of the path, turn right and then turn left at the next fork.
Take the path on the left for a little over 2km, ignoring the other paths on your left.

(7) Cross the fence through a door in the fence on the right and head downhill across the field.
Cross another stile over a fence. Cross a fence, leave the meadow and continue on a stony path which crosses other paths

(8) At the end of the path, cross a fence to find yourself in a meadow. Orient yourself at a right angle to the right towards the college entrance gateway.
Cross a fence to enter the college premises and exit immediately to the left by the small door next to the gateway.
Take the tarmac road starting on your right out of the college grounds. This road runs alongside the college then turns left to join a main road.
Turn left on the latter and stay on the left pavement before crossing a stream over a pedestrian bridge next to a vehicles-only bridge.

(9) As soon as you cross the bridge, turn right, cross the road and cross two fences to access a meadow.
Go over a stile over a fence and pass under the railway bridge. Immediately keep to the right to go along the track, passing a field on the left.
When you arrive near a farm, the path forks slightly to the left.

(10) The path arrives, via a passageway (old fence is broken), at the access road to the farm.
Cross the road and cross the fence in front of you. Continue along the field to a fence.
Cross the barrier and turn left on a tarmac road until you reach an intersection with a main road.
Cross the road and continue on the path in front of you. Go around or pass under a fence.

(11) When the main path turns right, continue straight on a path between two fields. At the end, the path veers to the right towards a fence.

(12) Cross the fence to find yourself in a meadow and climb obliquely up the field to find another pedestrian barrier. Do not use the gate located further to the left.
Cross the fence and cross the road to take the path in front of you.
Continue straight for about 200m then, before the path descends, turn right to follow another path leading away from a field on the left.

(13) Taking a small, narrow path, turn right into the woods to join a wider path leading uphill on the right. The oblique path on the left and continues in the undergrowth.

(14) At an intersection, ignore the two paths to the right and continue opposite to find a pedestrian gate built into a gateway shortly after.

(15) Cross the barrier leading into a meadow and continue straight up the hill in front of you.
Crossing a fenced-in area (an old passageway replaced by a collapsed section of fencing). Head downhill straight ahead to come to a fence that leads to the undergrowth.

(16) Cross the fence, and cross a wood and a meadow. At the bottom of the hill, turn right and go around a wood, passing by it to the left.

(17) At the top of the hill, turn left to enter the woods and follow the path which crosses two tarmac roads to reach a fence on the left.
Cross the fence and continue across the field to the end of the path.
Turn right and continue straight for 900m to find the four fences crossed at the start of the hike on your left. Return to the starting point (S/E).

Useful Information

In the morning the grass will be wet, so good waterproof shoes can be useful.
For fans of walking poles, these can be useful on the ascents.
The presence of animals in pastures makes it essential to close barriers well after you use them and to keep your dogs on a leash.

Always stay careful and alert while following a route. Visorando and the author of this walk cannot be held responsible in the event of an accident during this route.

During the walk or to do/see around

After your walk, a little detour to Rye means you can do a bit of tourism in a typical village.
