This is a wonderful Yorkshire Dales walk that includes pleasant countryside, villages and a super walk along the banks of the River Wharfe. Refreshments are available in Burnsall.
(D)The start is the village of Linton (grid ref. SD996627) where on street parking is available. Do remember not to cause inconvenience for residents and park considerately. To start, walk upstream along the Linton Beck with the stream on your right. At grid ref. SD997625 turn left onto a signed footpath. The path bypasses some buildings before joining a track. Keep straight ahead ignoring paths coming in from the right and left and continue across fields to reach Thorpe Lane (grid ref. SE005620).
(1)Go left along this quite lane to a T-junction. Go right here and bear left in the centre of the village. Continue along this lane to the point where the lane goes left. Take the signed walled lane towards Burnsall to cross a track marked 'Badger Lane' on OS maps. At the end of the first field after this track, the path veers to the right (grid ref. SE027616). The path then crosses a number of narrow fields eventually reaching the main road in Burnsall (grid ref. SE032612).
(2)There are refreshments available in Burnsall and its worth having a look at the River Wharfe and the substantial Burnsall Bridge. The next section of the route follows the Dales Way alongside the River Wharfe. Initially the path is on the west bank (river on your right) but crosses to the east bank at a rather grand suspension bridge (grid ref. SE025623). Reaching the other side the walk continues across pleasant riverside grass - this is a delightful stretch of the River Wharfe - and takes you to the stepping stones close to Linton Church (grid ref. SE006631).
(3)You do have the option of crossing the river here but the stepping stones can be very slippery. If you do cross here you can continue to Linton Church where you will join the walk once more. Assuming you have decided for a safer (and possibly drier!) option continue along the east bank of the River to reach Sedber Lane (grid ref. SE001633). Close by are the Linton Falls which are weirs across the Wharfe.
(4)Turn left onto Sedber Lane and walk down to the road. Turn left and continue towards Linton Church, which is worth a visit. The village of Linton was not really that convenient for churchgoers as you are about to discover! Having visited the church, retrace your steps up the lane and take the footpath on the left (grid ref. SE002631). Almost immediately the path divides. Bear right and follow the path to the main road. Turn right and then fork left and you will soon be back in the centre of Linton village.(A)

This is a lovely walk, my favourite this year, aongside the River Wharfe and across the lower Dales.
We extended it so that we could walk directly from Masons campsite where we were staying. The walk is mainly flat and pleasant underfoot as it is mainly a grassy path next to the river or over fields, and there are plenty of lovely viewpoints. There's a nice suspension bridge to cross too!
Great places to stop in Burnsall for a reviving drink. Highly recommended!

Nice walk from the beautiful village of Linton through fields to Thorpe and on through more fields with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside to Burnsall. Burnsall is a busy little place with a very old bridge spanning the river. There is a lovely pub with lots of outdoor seating and two cafes.
The walk continues along the river on the Dales Way all the way to Linton church which can be accessed via stepping stones if the river isn't too high, or continue round through fields to the falls. Linton is not much further after that and a the pub overlooking the picturesque village green is open for refreshments.

Great morning walk with friends. It seems a popular walk so parking could be difficult. There are two lots of stepping stones which I could not do but the first had a bridge the second, we kept walking to the falls.
I would definitely recommend this as they were brilliant.*

This really is a beautiful walk through the countryside. We stopped in burnsall for a pint next to the bridge before carrying on along the river. Easy to follow directions on here together with signs along the route make this a gem.

This is a walk full of charm and interest. It would make an ideal day out for a family, or for a group including less experienced walkers, as there's little climbing, few stiles, and the chance to have a coffee or lunch stop at Burnsall.

Lovely, varied walk through fields, picturesque villages and along the riverside. There’s a bit of road walking, but these are very quiet and we didn’t see any cars. Great pub lunch in Burnsall.
An impressive rapid, a riverside church and access to the facilities of Grassington.
A hearty climb to a local summit with superb views over Wharfedale and the surrounding hills.
A pretty village and a glorious section along the River Wharfe to Linton Falls.
The first part of this circular walk is along River Wharfe and the second one on High Lane, which offer you beautiful points of view of the valley.
This Yorkshire Dales walk traverses some fine limestone scenery above Wharfedale. The start is near the village of Conistone and the route takes you high above the dale to enjoy some wonderful views. A section of the Dales Way is used for this walk.
Circular reservoir walk, fresh around Grimwith Reservoir.
A great circular walk from Malham village, taking in Janet's Cave / Foss, Gordale Scar, Malham Tarn, the limestone pavement at the top of Malham Cove and the cove itself before finishing back at the car. Consistently interesting and varied scenery.
Please note that there is a scramble up steep water worn rock in Goredale. Some people might find this challenging.
A nice circular walk from Malham in a westerly direction towards Settle and then curving north past Attermire Scar with a detour to explore Victoria Cave. The loop returns towards Malham via Malham Cove. Interesting and varied scenery throughout the walk and mostly on well maintained paths or tracks.
