Start at the car park of the Blanc lake inn. Head in the direction of the ski slope starting by following the road on the right of the lake (with views over it).
It soon joins a path that approaches the shore of the lake.
At its tip, start a relatively dry ascent but in small loops leading to the ski lift.
From there head along the west side of the lake, along the ridge that rises gently in a straight line to the highest point of this walk.
Then branch off to the left to go down to Noir lake, passing near the Altenkraehkopf viewpoint (1).
From the Noir lake car park, join a small path that goes along the lake and then moves away from it. It winds its way up to the "Belmont" observatory.
Take the opportunity to take a breath, have a drink and enjoy the view on the Alsatian side of the Vosges.
Finally, a steep descent to Blanc lake.
Take care on the stairs and winding paths along the cliff. Pay attention.
The entire route is well signposted.
