This walk is part of the trek Trek from Fionay to Saas-Fee.
An unusual stage today: it starts with a downhill hike before a long climb uphill, a second descent and a ski lift ride followed by a walk over flatland and a bus ride to the lodge.
Calculated time is computed with the distance, the height difference, and an average speed of 2.2 mph. For an intermediate walker, this time includes small breaks.
Reaching the beginning of the trail (D) leave the Alpenpässe path to the left and take the downhill trail towards a path overlooking "Lac des Dix" (1).
Get to the lake's vast platform and its impressive hotel (2). Then start a downhill hike leaving the windy road heading to the lake to the right-hand side.
(3) Take to trail leading to Méribé pasture (4). Follow this trail heading north until you get to Noveli pasture (5).
Head due east and after a few tight bends, swerve south-east smoothly reaching Meina or Méribé Pass (6).
Start the hike down due north-east, then east, crossing Pas d'Arpilles (7); then heading in a north-east direction which leads you to Lana upper ski lift station (8). Catch the ski lift taking you down to Lana (9).
Locate the large path leading to Evolène bus station (10). Take a ride on the bus to get to La Sage lodge ("gîte de La Sage") (11).
