Kynance Cove and Lizard village far away
Impressive cliffs towards Vellan Head
From Soapy Valley
view over Predannack Head

Description

Park your car at Predannack National Trust car park (next to Windyridge farm).

(S/E) Heads towards the tracks between buildings, go through the gate, cross the small footbridge over the stream.

(1) At the fork, bear right following "Coast path" signpost and keep right at the next fork until you reach the South West Coast Path.

(2) At national trust signpost, turn left towards 'Lizard Point, Kynance cove, Soapy Cove". Continue along the cliff heading to Vellan Head enjoying the views.

(3) Continue down the path to Soapy Valley, then cross a stream (can be dry) and ascend still following cliffs for at least two kilometres until you reach characteristic rocks at Kynance Cove.

(4) When you reach the grassy plain in front of rocks (Asparagus Island), don't go down but go up the opposite way heading to a track inland with yellow arrow signpost. Go straight ahead for one kilometre going past two large wooden gates with green arrows until the track leads to a fork with "public footpath" signpost.

(5) From this signpost, bear right towards the gate you can see, go through it and turn right when you join again a track. Follow it for a few metres and turn left onto the non-well-marked path (follow yellow arrow almost on the ground in vegetation). Follow yellows arrows in open fields until you see two gates. Take the one on your left and continue until you reach a stile and a junction (two blue arrows and one yellow arrow).

(6) From this junction, turn left (yellow arrow), climb stone steps to another field, walk along the hedge on your right, leave this field climbing again stone steps and head to the gate sightly left. At the next junction go straight ahead to the track which leads to Windyridge Farm and the car park.(S/E)
